This way we don't have to worry about banging an expensive new lens against a stone. We attach metal rings to screws that fit into the bottom of the camera (the case may have to be removed). A machinist can make these for you. To our belt loops we attach a leather loop with a snap, to which is attached a spring-type clip. The clip can be hooked through the metal ring hanging from the camera. It is easy to engage and disengage (see illustrations). This arrangement is extremely helpful, especially if you are carrying more than one camera.
